5 Steps To Building A Profitable Home Internet Business In 2017

Building as profitable home internet business is not as complicated as you may think. You may be nervous about getting caught up with technical issues that seem impossible to understand. Or you might feel that you're too old, too young or too inexperienced. Or you may just not know where to start.
As long as you know what you want to sell and who you want to sell it to, you're ready to get started. Let's take a look at the 5 steps to building a profitable home internet business.
1. Get Your Website Online
With modern software and technology, building a website is not that difficult. You definitely don't have to start learning website coding or e-commerce programs. There are many online business systems that can be installed with a few clicks following step-by-step instructions. You can even outsource the whole set up if you feel that it's too much for you.
2. Get People To Visit Your Website
Your home internet businesses will only make money if you get traffic to your website. Traffic is basically the number of people who visit your website. There are two ways to generate website traffic. You can buy website traffic or you can generate free website traffic. When you buy website traffic, it's essentially paid advertising. It delivers instant results but the traffic stops as soon as you stop paying for it. So you have to ensure that you spend your money wisely. Free website traffic takes a little longer to generate, but once it starts, it can provide a regular flow of visitor traffic.
3. Provide Valuable Content For Free
It's highly unlikely that somebody will buy from you the first time that they visit your website. You have gone to a lot of effort to get them to visit your website in the first place and you don't want that work to go to waste. So, if you can obtain their email address, you can remain in contact with them. To encourage a website visitor to provide you with their email address, offer them something of value for free such a report, a discount or special offer. As long as it is relevant to your business and provides value.
4. Use Emails To Build A Relationship With Your Prospect
Email marketing is considered to be one of the most effective marketing strategies and you will need an email autoresponder. An autoresponder will automatically email your freebie when somebody requests it. It can then continue to send a pre-written series of emails to develop a relationship with your potential buyer.
5. Make Offers Or Recommendations
Email marketing is effective because you are providing regular and meaningful communications. The more value you provide, the more you will be seen as a trusted source of information. Then, when you make offers and recommendations about products and services to buy, your prospects are far more likely to buy from you because they trust your judgement.

Essential Internet Marketing Tips for 2017

When it comes to using an internet marketing company they will focus on using essential services and strategies to ensure you achieve online success in the long run. Managing your own online marketing campaign can be a daunting and time consuming process, but if you make use of a specialist company you can save yourself valuable time and energy, along with resources moving forward.

There are a few internet marketing tips you should be focusing on if you have chosen to manage your own campaign for now. As your business grows and you don't have the time to focus on your online marketing daily,, then it's time to hand your project over to a professional who can help you boost your brand, increase your web traffic and help you improve online revenue.

The first very important thing that any internet marketing company will tell you as the number one tip for success is to know your market. Know your product, know your audience and get to know your competitors. You want to focus on this in everything you do from your website design to the online marketing that you choose to do, whether it's pay per click advertising, social media advertising or both.

Next you will want to set yourself goals. Setting goals is essential to monitor your progress and ensure that your efforts are meeting your unique online needs. Setting goals should be realistic, from increasing your ranking to growing your followers on social media to setting up a blog or increasing your brand using pay per click advertising. There are so many things to remember and so many different goals to set and if you don't have online marketing experience, you may find that an internet marketing company is the best choice to help you grow your business online in the long run.

Always set yourself an internet marketing budget. You will be pleased you did. Your budget should be set if you are using an internet marketing company to identify how much you can spend with them each month. It is easier if the company you choose has set packages to take advantage of, so you can ensure your budget remains the same on a monthly basis. If you are considering pay per click advertising, set a daily budget, so that you only pay for the leads generated as a result up to a set amount, so that you are sure to not exceed your budget at any time.
Ensure that you focus on your branding. You want to have set and identifiable brand before you even start with your online marketing campaign. Your brand should be catchy and noticeable, easy to remember and something that relates to your audience. There is no point getting technological if you aren't catering to a technological audience, for example. Your internet marketing company should be able to provide you with advice, recommendations and assistance when it comes to your brand, so that you can ensure to increase visibility moving forward.

The final thing you are going to want to consider in 2017 when it comes to your internet marketing is search engine optimisation. SEO has changed dramatically over the past few years and there are so many different factors to consider from focusing on your local audience to making your website mobile friendly. How to Make a Website That Makes Money - 3 Tips

These days, anyone with access to a computer and internet connection can start a website. However, not everyone knows how to make a website that makes money. For a site to be profitable, it takes a lot of planning, time and hard work. This is different from starting a hobby website where your goal may be to simply share ideas. If your goal is to make a website that makes money, you need to realise that even if you build a top notch website, money will not automatically follow unless you promote and monetise your site properly.
Here are three tips that you need to consider in order to make a website that will actually make money.
Topic Potential
The first aspect to consider on how to make a website that makes money is the potential of the site concept or niche. Ensure that the topic is not too broad or too narrow. For a site to be profitable, it has to address issues that are of concern to a sufficient number of people to make it worth your time. However if it is too broad the competition may be too high to overcome. It is often best to narrow the focus of a broad category down to a niche of that category that allows for enough traffic without the massive numbers of competitors. This is an important point when deciding how to make a website that makes money.
Promotion to Drive Traffic
The best topic with very high potential may not be enough to bring income from a website. One of the most important aspects on how to make a website that makes money is to promote the website and drive traffic to it. Start by optimizing your website and content to rank higher in the search engines. This is called search engine optimization. It is also important to embark on a link building campaign through link exchanges, article directories and blog commenting. You can also use social media to promote your website and drive traffic. Once your website starts receiving many visitors, it is up to you to decide how to turn those visitors into income.
Monetization Options
Consider the different ways you can monetize your website. This highly depends on the topic your choose. A topic that has many monetization choices is ideal. Examples of ways to make money from a website includes selling your own products or services, selling advertisement space, displaying third party ads, promoting other people's products, referring people to an offline business and many others. Know how you are going to make money from the website before you launch it.
The formula on how to make a website that makes money is very simple: go for a profitable niche, provide great content to satisfy visitors and search engines, promote your website to drive lots of traffic and then turn that traffic into income by integrating a variety of monetization options in your site. You need to consider these factors in the planning stages of your website to ensure that you succeed and make money from your website. If you have a website and are wondering why you have not yet made money from it, these tips may provide clues as to where you need to focus more of your attention.

How Affiliate Marketing Works - A Step By Step Guide For Beginners

Looking to make an income online? Got a computer / laptop and an Internet connection? Then Affiliate Marketing could be the simplest and quickest path to fulfilling your dream.
Here, you'll discover the 6 simple steps that will take you from complete beginner to Affiliate Marketer in as little as 48 hours.
WHAT IS AFFILIATE MARKETING?
Affiliate marketing is a performance-based marketing system where a product vendor pays an "affiliate" a commission when someone buys their product. That "someone" having been referred to the vendor by the "affiliate."
And it all happens online: You have a web presence, usually a website, that you attract like-minded visitors to, where you "warm them up" to the idea that the product you're promoting (as an affiliate) is the perfect answer to their pressing problem or need.
That "product" could be physical (books, CDs, DVDs, clothing, jewelry, natural medicines, etc.) or digital (e-books, e-reports, software, online courses / trainings, etc.).
When your visitor clicks on your affiliate link (on your site) they are redirected to the vendor's site, where the vendor will close the sale; a lot easier after you've warmed them up! When your site visitor buys the vendor's product you get paid a commission.
For example, if the product cost $100 and you get, say, 50% commission, you'll get paid $50! And all for, basically, introducing someone with a pressing problem or need to someone who can fix that problem.
Affiliate marketing is ideal for beginners starting out online as it has a very low barrier to entry: it's a very simple process that doesn't need any particular technical skills, you don't have to have your own product, and it doesn't cost the earth to get started. In fact, you can get going for less than $20!
And, you don't have to do selling, or fulfillment, or keep stock, or deal with payment systems, and you don't have to deal with customers; the vendor does that.
All YOU need is an Internet connection and a computer / laptop and you're good to go.
AFFILIATE NETWORKS
Because affiliate marketing is so profitable for both affiliate and vendor, over the years many "affiliate networks" have sprung up to help both affiliates and vendors manage their affairs much more efficiently and easily.
Vendors can attract affiliates by advertising their products on these networks and affiliates can easily find products to promote. Once an affiliate decides to promote a certain product the network assigns an affiliate link / ID so that sales of that product can be linked back to the affiliate.
The affiliate network also takes on responsibility for managing the flow of money between vendor and affiliate either by electronic transfer or check. It also charges a small fee to both vendor and affiliate for the service.
There are many affiliate networks to choose from, but a beginner to affiliate marketing can easily get started with "ClickBank" and / or "Amazon."
GETTING STARTED WITH AFFILIATE MARKETING
1. Choose Your Niche and Product
The first step is to decide which niche you wish to operate in. A "niche" is a group of people with very similar interests, e.g. gout sufferers, broken relationships, looking for car insurance, how to make money online, etc. But, of course, it also has to have proven "buyers" in it in order to make money.
So how do you find a profitable niche with lots of profitable products you can promote?
A very quick way to do this is to search affiliate networks for niches that have several products that their stats tell you are selling well. If there are lots of products that are selling well, you now know that the niche is a profitable one, and, the buyers in that niche like those products.
In other words, there's no second guessing; you know for a fact that you can make money in that niche and you know for a fact which products are successful, unlike if you had to develop your own product!
Once you're happy with a product, you sign-up as an affiliate for it and are given a unique link that you place on your website. When a visitor clicks on that link they go to the vendor's sales page where, if they buy, you get paid the commission assigned to that product.
2. Get Your Domain Name
Before you setup your website you need to get a domain name based around your niche. For example, fastgoutcure.com, weightlossforseniors.com. Get the idea? This will become your website "address."
Two of the most popular domain registrars are "GoDaddy" and "NameCheap."
3. Get Hosting
Next, you need to get hosting for your website. This is where all your website files will be stored and secured. When someone enters your domain name in their browser they will be directed to your website.
There are very many web hosting companies out there, but you can't go far wrong as a newbie by going with "HostGator."
4. Set-Up Your Website
You then need to set-up your website. This needs to be highly relevant to, and laser-focused on, your chosen niche and product. For example, having a website about "arthritis" and trying to promote a product that cures "gout" will neither rank well in the search engines nor make sales.
Although gout and arthritis are linked medically, most people don't know that, so they'll be searching for "arthritis" solutions or "gout" solutions and Google will present webpages on their search results that reflect that. So always stay laser-focused!
You need a platform or specialist software to build your website. The most popular platform today by far is "WordPress" which is free. Most good hosting companies like HostGator allow you to select WordPress directly from within your hosting control panel in just a couple of clicks.
5. Add Great Content
There's a saying in marketing that "content is king!" I like to say that "GREAT content is king!" So the content on your website has to be highly relevant to, and laser-focused on, your niche, such that your site visitors get great value (and know they great value) from it.
For example, if your site is about "gout" you write content about what causes it, its symptoms, how it's diagnosed, how it's treated, any natural remedies, any specific diets, lifestyle changes, and so on. Give top tips, some recipes, the latest studies, news, etc. That is, keep adding "value."
6. Drive Traffic (Visitors)
Now, you can have the best website in the world, the best product(s) to promote that will definitely, absolutely, help your target audience; but, if nobody ever lands on your site, you might as well not have bothered!
So getting visitors (called "traffic" in Internet marketing) to your website is absolutely critical to your success and to helping all those people who are desperately searching for a solution to their problem.
There's basically two ways to get traffic; "pay for it" or "get it free."
Paid traffic is things like advertising on other niche websites, Google, Bing, Facebook, etc. You can also pay people who have large email lists in the same niche as you to send out a promotional email of yours to their list.
But paying for traffic may not be the best option when starting out because you really need to know what you are doing because it's very easy to get "burnt" when you don't.
Free traffic comes from things like Search Engine Optimization (SEO) which is the art of getting your website on page 1 of Google, Bing, and other search engines.
You can also get tons of free traffic from posting great content (with links back to your site) on Social Media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc. When people click on your link they end up on your website.
You can produce simple, short, YouTube videos that can drive traffic to your site via your site link in the video description.
One very popular way to drive free traffic to your site is to post comments on blogs and forums in the same or similar niche to you.
Another very simple way to get free traffic is by publishing short articles in Article Directories such as EzineArticles. The article you're reading right now is an example of this technique.
This also has the added benefit that other website owners in your niche are allowed to copy and publish your article on their sites, but they must leave your website link intact so that you can get free traffic from THEIR site too!
So, here's your affiliate marketing checklist:
1. Choose Your Niche and Product
2. Get Your Domain Name
3. Get Hosting
4. Set-Up Your Website
5. Add Great Content
6. Drive Traffic (Visitors)
If you're a beginner to affiliate marketing don't be overawed by all this; it really is very easy to get going. Anybody, and I mean anybody, who has an Internet connection and a computer or laptop can be up and running, ready to start taking commissions, in as little as 48 hours. And all without any previous experience.

If you're the average entrepreneur involved in an internet home business then you're not making the money and achieving the goals that you've set for yourself. Did you think that you would go from zero to hero in a couple of months? Did you think that you would be earning $2,000-$3,000 in your first couple of months? To be successful in an internet home business you need to treat your business like a Real Business! Specifically, you need to have a written business plan, a daily action plan, a mentor with a track record of success and a proven marketing and advertising system that will help you systematically grow your business. The painful truth is that 97% of home based entrepreneurs spend more money than they make. So the million dollar question is "How do you become a 3% er?"
Most Network Marketers quit within 6 months of joining a Network Marketing Business. The average networker desperately jumps for one opportunity to the next. Over and over again.... starting, quitting, and then starting up again...like an mlm crack addict jumping from one "Pre-Lauch" opportunity to the next! So how do you break this awful habit and create the success that you so desperately are longing for?
The Truth
First you need to know why most people fail in the network marketing business. The number one reason most network marketers and home based business owners fail is... the lack of Effective Marketing Training and Support. The vast majority of Network Marketing Companies are led by "Old School" Network Marketers who teach their members outdated marketing strategies like prospecting friends and family, contacting strangers at the store, inviting prospects to hotel meetings or home meetings and sending prospects to company replicated websites. Building a residual income through the networking marketing business model in the internet age is a waste of time and money! Many exasperated Networkers are tired of dealing with downline attrition and tiny commission checks, more and more home business owners are giving up on traditional "MLM" marketing methods and embracing a proven internet marketing philosophy called "Attraction Marketing".
Long Term Vision
No matter the business whether traditional Network Marketing or Top Tier Marketing you need to be willing to commit a minimum of 2 years of consistent action to be successful in any Legitimate Home Based Business Opportunity. If you will work your business 2-4 hours daily, 5-6 days per week, for 2 years, you will become a 3% Leader in your company. But you must take consistent action. A very important question to ask yourself is "Will the company that you're a distributor for be around long term?" Just like traditional businesses, most Network Marketing companies close their doors within 5 years or less, so it's important to make sure that your apart of a company that has a proven track record.
Attraction Marketing
The key to making a lot of money online from home is to leverage a proven marketing system. Attraction Marketing is a strategy that involves internet marketing, online lead generation and personal branding. With the implementation of Attraction Marketing into your home based business you can make a lot of money online regardless of the product or opportunity that you are selling. Companies come and go, but YOU Inc. is here to thrive and survive! You need to realize that people don't just join companies, they follow people who are leaders that can teach them and take them places they could never go on their own. Internet Network Marketing Leaders like Mike Dillard, Jay Kubassek, Aaron Parkinson and Andrew Cass are some of the top Internet Marketers in the Home Based Business Arena. Mike Dillard is the founder of Magnetic Sponsoring. Jay Kubassek and Aaron Parkinson are the founding members of "CarbonCopyPRO". The most important thing that I've learned so far from these guys is that you can't base your life long success and income on any one company or opportunity. You need multiple streams of income to achieve lasting wealth.
In closing remember it is important to have a long term vision and a strong work ethic in your business. If Home Based Businesses were easy to build everyone would be doing it and the potential profits would be no greater than an average income from an ordinary job. So don't be average or ordinary! In the internet economy Network Marketing, MLM, Top Tier Marketing and Home Based Businesses are the best vehicles for you to achieve the Success that you deserve.

Internet Marketing 101

Depending on whom you ask, the term Internet marketing can mean a variety of things. At one time, Internet marketing consisted mostly of having a website or placing banner ads on other websites. On the other end of the spectrum, there are loads of companies telling you that you can make a fortune overnight on the Internet and who try to sell you some form of "Internet marketing program".
Today, Internet marketing, or online marketing, is evolving into a broader mix of components a company can use as a means of increasing sales - even if your business is done completely online, partly online, or completely offline. The decision to use Internet marketing as part of a company's overall marketing strategy is strictly up to the company of course, but as a rule, Internet marketing is becoming an increasingly important part of nearly every company's marketing mix. For some online businesses, it is the only form of marketing being practiced.
Internet Marketing Objectives
Essentially, Internet marketing is using the Internet to do one or more of the following:
  • Communicate a company's message about itself, its products, or its services online.
  • Conduct research as to the nature (demographics, preferences, and needs) of existing and potential customers.
  • Sell goods, services, or advertising space over the Internet.
Internet Marketing Components
Components of Internet marketing (or online marketing) may include:
  • Setting up a website , consisting of text, images and possibly audio and video elements used to convey the company's message online, to inform existing and potential customers of the features and benefits of the company's products and/or services. The website may or may not include the ability to capture leads from potential customers or directly sell a product or service online. Websites can be the Internet equivalents of offline brochures or mail order catalogs and they are a great way to establish your business identity.
  • Search Engine Marketing (SEM), which is marketing a website online via search engines, either by improving the site's natural (organic) ranking through search engine optimisation (SEO), buying pay-per-click (PPC) ads or purchasing pay-for-inclusion (PFI) listings in website directories, which are similar to offline yellow page listings.
  • Email marketing, which is a method of distributing information about a product or service or for soliciting feedback from customers about a product or service through Email. Email addresses of customers and prospective customers may be collected or purchased. Various methods are used, such as the regular distribution of newsletters or mass mailing of offers related to the company's product or services. Email marketing is essentially the online equivalent of direct mail marketing.
  • Banner advertising, which is the placement of ads on a website for a fee. The offline equivalent of this form of online marketing would be traditional ads in newspapers or magazines.
  • Online press releases, which involve placing a newsworthy story about a company, its website, its people, and/or its products/services with on online wire service.
  • Blog marketing, which is the act of posting comments, expressing opinions or making announcements in a discussion forum and can be accomplished either by hosting your own blog or by posting comments and/or URLs in other blogs related to your product or service online.
  • , which involves writing articles related to your business and having them published online on syndicated article sites. These articles then have a tendency to spread around the Internet since the article services permit re-publication provided that all of the links in the article are maintained. Article marketing can result in a traffic boost for your website, and the distribution of syndicated articles can promote your brand to a wide audience.
  • , which can involve social networks like Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and social bookmarking sites like Digg.
Internet Marketing and Home Business
Of all of the components of Internet marketing, prospective customers and clients expect a business to have a website.
In fact, not having one could raise a red flag to a prospect. Online usage has become so pervasive today, many prospects might easily choose to do business with a company that they can get up-to-date information on 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
Even a business that only has very local customers, such as a single location restaurant or shoe store can benefit from having a website and engaging in online marketing. And, those businesses whose customers are not restricted to a geographical area might have a difficult time finding an alternate method of attracting customers that offers a reasonably low expense and worldwide reach of a Web presence.
Because of the "virtual" nature of most home businesses, websites, if not an absolute necessity, can certainly provide benefits to a home business operator. Since most home-based businesses don't have a physical location, a website provides an inexpensive means for prospects to get to know what you do or what you sell and can even be a "storefront" for selling goods and services directly.
The Internet has greatly enabled home businesses to prosper because of the reasonably low cost to start and maintain a web presence. Therefore, Internet marketing should be part of your business plan and your marketing strategy.
Finding the Right Internet Marketing Mix
How much of your marketing strategy should be handled online, which Internet marketing elements you use, and the importance you should give to your website depends on the nature of your business, your budget, and, to some extent, your personal traits? All of these considerations are part of strategic Internet marketing decisions that help develop Internet marketing strategies for a business.
Using Offline Elements with Internet Marketing Strategies
Unless you transact business only online, for example, if you are an eBay reseller, you will probably want to include some traditional offline marketing elements in your overall marketing strategy in addition to the elements in your Internet strategy in your marketing mix. Even those who conduct business only online might consider placing traditional ads in newspapers or magazines to bring prospects to their website to transact business online. Perfect examples of including offline elements as part of Internet marketing strategies are Expedia, Travelocity, and Monster.com. While they are online businesses, they invest heavily in traditional advertising, including radio and TV advertising, to draw traffic to their sites where the actual business is conducted.
Develop Internet Marketing Strategies You Like
If you have a personal distaste for "spam", which most of us do, you may not want to include email marketing in your strategic Internet marketing plan. However, email marketing doesn't have to mean just sending out unsolicited messages to every email address you can gather. If you include a visitor registration form on your website, for example, or if you exhibit at trade shows, you have the vehicles needed to collect email addresses of interested prospects. You might consider creating a newsletter and sending it to these prospects on a regular basis as part of your strategic Internet marketing plan. Or, you might just set up a schedule where you periodically send an email to your interested prospects to see how they're doing, if you can be of assistance to them, or if their needs have changed since you last talked. So even if you don't incorporate email marketing into your Internet marketing strategy, per se, you are still using email as a tool to promote your business.
Your Budget and Your Internet Marketing Strategy
Of course, your budget will also determine the components you use in any of the Internet marketing strategies you might develop. A website will require you to choose a domain name and register it and to purchase web hosting services from your website. Both items are deeply discounted, in fact, I recently saw an offer for domain name registration for only $1.99 per year - provided you also purchase other services, like hosting, which is now also available for less than $10 per month.
Once that's done, you'll need a design and content for your website, which you'll either need to provide yourself or pay to have a web content professional and/or web designer handle it for you.
Once your content and design are in place, you'll want your site to be found, so you'll want to learn about search engine optimisation (SEO), which is an important part of strategic Internet marketing, whether you do it yourself of pay someone else to do it for you.
Ideally, if you pay to have web content written for you, that content should be optimised for search engines when it's written. Likewise, you or your web designer should know something about SEO because how your site is designed can enhance or limit your site traffic, and in the vast majority of cases, SEO should be a significant part of your Internet marketing strategy. In both cases, you may pay a bit more, but you'll save time in the long run.
Once your website is up and running, you'll either need to maintain it yourself or outsource the duties to an independent Webmaster to do it for you.
Pay-per-click advertising (PPC), like Google AdWords, can be easy on your budget because you can specify how much you're willing to pay when someone clicks your ad and how much you're willing to pay per day. You can also specify whether you want to include your ad only on search pages or on other websites related to your keywords. You can set geographic and time of the day restrictions on when and where your ads run. Plus, PPC ads are fairly easy to activate and suspend whenever you need to do so, they're easy to update and they provide near real-time tracking benefits you won't get with most other elements in your Internet marketing strategy. You can also use images and/or videos with PPC advertising, which may be more cost effective than placing banner ads on other websites.
On the other side of the coin, you can use pay per click ads to make money with your website, through programs like Google AdSense, Yahoo Publisher or Microsoft AdCenter.
Tracking the Results of Internet Marketing Strategies
Let's face it: the average home business operator is not awash in cash. If you're going to be spending money on strategic Internet marketing initiatives, you'll need to track how effective they are. As you do so, you'll discover which Internet marketing strategies work for your business and which do not. And, you can learn from the mistakes you make in your Internet advertising campaign to improve your skills and enhance your success. Knowing what's worth spending money on and what isn't is very helpful in developing Internet marketing strategies as your business matures.
Strategic Internet Marketing Needs to be Flexible
Keep in mind, in most cases, patience is a true virtue when it comes to tracking the success of a strategic Internet marketing campaign. Search engines aren't likely to find you overnight and your strategies may not generate revenues right away.
Because you'll have literally millions of competitors who are also engaging in strategic Internet marketing, it will behoove you to keep on your toes and be ready to make necessary adjustments in your Internet marketing strategies when appropriate. However, some knowledge, some capable assistance, and a well-managed strategic Internet marketing plan can increase your chances for success.

Basics of Choosing a Niche

Before you can even start building your Internet business, you will need to choose a niche to build your business around. After all, you cannot build any kind of business if you do not know what that business will be about. So before you buy a domain name, build a website, write a sales page, or even create a product, you need to choose a niche. But there is more to choosing a niche than just picking something out of thin air.
Many marketers say that you should choose a niche that you are passionate about. However, I don't think that is necessarily true. Just think about it for a few minutes.
What are you passionate about? How many other people are passionate about the same thing? Maybe you are passionate about gardening. Great! That would be a good niche to build your business around as there are hundreds of thousands, more likely millions of people interested in gardening. But if you are passionate about some obscure subject, how many people do you think have a passion for the same thing? Probably very few so how can you expect to make any money in that particular niche?
Think about it logically. Just being passionate about something may not be enough to build a profitable business around. In order to be successful, your chosen niche must have enough profit potential that you can actually make money in it. Otherwise, it will be just a hobby, not an actual business.
PLEASE NOTE: According to the IRS, if your business does not become profitable within a couple of years, then it is a hobby, not a business. And, the IRS does not allow tax deductions for hobbies. Choosing a profitable niche is the first step to building a profitable business instead of a hobby.
On the other hand, if you have absolutely no interest or very little interest in a niche, it will be very hard for you to work in that niche. Never choose a niche just because you think you can make a lot of money in it, especially if you do not have much interest in it.
If you choose a niche you have no interest in, you will end up making excuses for why you cannot work that day. You won't want to spend time creating products to promote to your subscribers. Without any products, you will not make any money in that niche. Plus, you'll have a hard time coming up with ideas to write articles about. Without articles, you have no content to send to your subscribers.
Since your subscribers joined your list because they thought you would help them solve their problems, you'll never be able to maintain your list of subscribers if you never send them the information they want.
So you will end up starting all over again in a different niche, wasting all of the time, effort and money you spent in a niche you end up abandoning. If you have some interest in a niche, it will be much easier for you to do the many tasks associated with building a profitable online business around that niche. So, whatever niche you chose should be something you are at least interested in or something you want to learn more about.
So, you really don't need to be passionate about the niche you choose but you do need to have some interest in it. While your ultimate goal is to make money, you will still need to choose a niche that you will enjoy working in.
In order to be successful, you can't be a small fish in a big ocean. All small fish either get eaten or they become lost in the vast numbers of larger fish.
You will need to do some research to find a niche which you can narrow down into one or more profitable sub-niches. You need to choose a sub-niche with a high demand for the products you will be creating and which also offers a large number of products you can promote as an affiliate.

The Fastest Way To Start A Profitable Online Business

Everything is easy in hindsight. If I hadn't made all those mistakes, I wouldn't have learned what not to do. Still, if I could go back and talk to my younger self, I would have a few words to say on the faster ways to grow an internet business from scratch. I hope this can help someone else on the same path.
Get The Best Education Online
Firstly I would start with getting the right education online. That's easy to say when you have found a good mentor. It's much more difficult when you are being bombarded with information from various different sources. There's an overwhelming array of information on the internet. When you start looking for ways to earn from the internet, you will be bombarded even more with all the 'best' ways to build your internet business.
There are two trains of thought when it comes to making money. You can build content and rely on Google and other search engines to rank your business. This is very tentative. Suppose Google doesn't like you or your content. You're not going to rank in this case. This means no traffic. Even if you do rank your content on Google, things can always change. Google can change. Ultimately they don't want you making money from them, unless they are making money too! Google is a business and like all businesses their goal is to make money, not friends.
Don't Rely On Google's Organic Listings
Use Google and create content. But don't rely on your blog to make you money. You can be disappointed over and over again, as I was. I'm not saying only to use paid advertising. Use your content too. Just don't rely on it. As for paid advertising, you need a product which sells first. You need to know your business model works. You need a good back-end of products and services which will keep paying you over and over for existing customers. This is something I didn't understand when I started out.
Use Back End Products
Back end products are often the way to make money online. You may break even on your front end products, or even make a loss. However, if you have a good range of back-end products in your sales funnel, you can make money later on. When you have a profitable sales funnel like this one, you can afford to use paid advertising. But make sure you test and measure first with a small budget. Don't spend money you can't afford to lose in the first instance.
Test And Measure Advertising
Your advertising might fail. Expect it to at first. Only by testing and measuring can you reliably scale up your advertising campaign. And only when it is profitable should you do so. Once you have an advert which produces a good return on investment, you can scale up.
It's Up To You
Everyone likes the idea of owning their own business. But not everyone has the discipline to follow through with it and make it a success. You are always responsible for your results and no-one else! It can be easy to get distracted when working online. Avoid being a 'busy fool'. That is, avoiding the important to do the unnecessary. This is easy to fall into when you work for yourself.
Money Producing Activities
As an online marketer you are paid for results, not time spent. This means you need to make everything you do create forward momentum. Concentrate on money producing activities and don't spend time on things which don't move your business forwards.
Focus On One Thing At A Time
There's a tonne of activities you can do online. And then there's all the distractions too. Avoid looking at emails and social media. It will only distract you. Write a 'to do' list before opening your laptop and prioritize them in order of importance. Avoid jumping from one course to another online. I did this for some time. Before I cold make progress in one direction, I had found another 'system' and set off on a tangent. Find something which works for you and keep going.
It's Not Easy
Remember an internet business is not easy. Like any business you need to work hard and consistently for a long period of time before you see results. If you're not prepared to do this have a long think about whether this is for you. I expected faster results in most of the systems I tried online. I failed over and over again until I found something which worked. Don't give up too easily because those who stick it out can make a lifestyle business which means never having to work for anyone else again! This is worth fighting through all the difficult times for!
Tough Times Are Ahead
There will be tough times. You will struggle and want to quit. Don't give up too easily. When you feel like this take some time out and charge up. One good thing about an internet business is that it can be very forgiving. You can always start again. Keep learning and developing yourself and looking into your actions and results. Don't keep doing something if it isn't working. Keep trying new things and eventually you will progress. Remember to keep investing in your knowledge. Your actions always come from this knowledge. Invest in joining a community who you can go to when things get tough. It's much wiser than trying to do everything by yourself. Remember, you are the glass ceiling of your business. Your knowledge, of lack of it, will either help your business grow, or limit it. Never stop developing yourself and your knowledge of what you are doing.
