4 Proven Ways to Make Money Through Internet Marketing

You've probably heard about internet marketing before. You read in many places online it could make you money (or maybe even rich). In this article I'm going to introduce to you 4 ways to make money through internet marketing.
Why just 4? Because I want you to have only the best options before you. It is a waste of my time and yours to give you options you cannot implement. For these options all you need is internet marketing knowledge.
If you don't have any internet marketing knowledge, that's OK. You can read my article on internet marketing ideas; it will give you a good start. However, I suggest you just keep reading this article, everything will be clear at the end. So let's get started.
Creating your own internet marketing business
Let's start with the hardest, and probably most expensive. Don't worry, it's not all bad. There are some advantages that will make it worth your time, money and hard efforts.
But before we'll talk about the advantages, let's first understand what you need to do. You need to build your own website that suggests internet marketing services to visitors.
What kind of services? Here are a few options you have:
1. General marketing - Meaning you will market the client website in any way you see fit. This is a good idea if the clients know nothing about internet marketing.
2. Managing Google AdWord campaigns.
3. Create and promote a Facebook page for the client website.
4. Create, promote and manage a twitter account for the client website
5. Help the client to find websites for link exchange.
But still, creating an online business can cost a lot of money, so why is it worth it then? First, it's much easier for you to promote yourself as a business, and not as a freelancer. You will get more clients, and therefore more money.

Second, you won't need to find clients, they will come to you. But if you rather going for the cheaper solution, then the next one is for you.

Become an internet marketing freelancer
You can become a freelancer and search for jobs on freelancer's websites. You can also find jobs on forums (like WarriorForum.com). You don't need to build your own website, and you may need to pay only a small fee. This option is not as expensive as the first, but it's still as hard. Let's move to the simple ways now.

Promote products for other websites
Many companies offer incentives to anyone who will promote the company's products or services. Usually you will get a commission for every sale (many companies offers more than 50 percent in commission). This is called "Affiliate program".
The problem is that the chances to make money here are much lower than with the first two ways. It's possible you won't make any money at all. So, is it really worth it?
Even though the chances to make any money are the lowest, the chances to make a serious income are higher than with freelancing. Also, once you master this solution, you have no worries. And best of all, you don't need to work very hard.
But why promote other products for a commission, when you can create your own product and get close to 100% of the income?
Promote your own products
Instead of working for others, work for yourself. Create your own product and promote it yourself. The best idea is to write an eBook about a topic you know a lot about (or pay someone to write). This way you won't have to share.
Now, choose the best way for you, and learn more about it. Remember! Internet marketing is a career, like any offline career. You need to master it, and then you will make a good income. Good Luck!
Bonus: create your own niche website.
Create a website on a topic you love, and make money with ads or by promoting products. So how can you do it?

3 Basics That You Must Know When Using Social Media For Business

When using social media for business correctly you can connect with your target market, maximize your visibility, bring in leads and generate sales. Most individuals and businesses are connected to at least one social network site so social media marketing has never been more important. Here are 3 basics that you must know when using social media for business.
1. It's The Window To Your Business
Social media sites are becoming the main place where people go when they want to find out more about your business or your products. Instead of visiting a website, a lot of people will use their preferred social network channel to see if your business is on there.
Of course, you can't be on every single site. But your business should have a profile on the sites that best represent your target market, your brand and your products or services. When somebody finds your business on a social media site they should be able to immediately get an idea about your business by looking at your profile image, heading, links and description. Ensure that you complete the profile sections as fully as possible.
2. Produce Good Content To Develop Loyal Following
Social media for business is more than just sharing posts. It's a place where your audience can learn more about your business. When you create and post good content that offers value to your audience it will build your authority in your chosen niche so that your audience come to know, like and trust you.
Your content material should be unique and not constantly promotional. You need to create and share your content on a regular basis. This enhances the interaction with your audience and keeps them interested.
3. Use It to Build Relationships With Your Audience
Social media for business should be used to improve interaction and socialization. If you simply use it to only promote your products or services your audience will soon start to ignore you. Use social media to build relationships. This is done by following others, responding to comments, and sharing with other people outside your circle. Connect with others who have similar views to you.
Keep an eye out for Twitter Lists and Facebook or LinkedIn Groups that you can join. When you can contribute to a discussion or post in a constructive manner, it can raise your profile and help you to reach a new audience. Once again, don't be overly promotional and offer value.

10 Things You Didn't Know About Affiliate Marketing

Most people have heard of affiliate marketing, even if they haven't actually started doing it. Affiliate marketing is basically referring people to various products and services around the internet. For each sale you generate through your affiliate link, you earn a commission. The size of the commission depends on the products themselves, who is selling them and the percentage offered by the seller to the affiliate.
But what is actually involved in affiliate marketing? What do affiliates do on a daily basis? How do they earn money and how do they learn what to do?
1 An Example Of A Successful Website
There's several ways of marketing products and services online. Many affiliates create a blog first and sell products and services through their blog. Martin Lewis has a very successful website called moneysavingexpert.com. This is also an affiliate website. By creating content and helping people decide which service to use: which credit card offers to choose, the best interest rate etc. moneysavingexpert.com makes money by sending website visitors to various offers. If a sale is made through this website, the link this credited to it and a commission is made. By creating content, offering value and helping people make sensible choices, the website has built a reputation and become more prevalent over time. Google ranks the site highly in the search engines and thousands of people use it to make purchasing decisions every day.
2 How Can I Get Started As An Affiliate?
Affiliate marketing is huge. There are thousands of people already making their main source of income from the internet. To get started as an affiliate you need to learn some basic strategies and build various methods of generating traffic from the internet to those offers. A lot of affiliates start with a simple blog. Many travelers 'blog' about their travels. If you don't have a passion or interest to blog about, you can start by following an online course which will help. See my bio for more info on this.
3 How Long Does It Take To Make A Living?
Some people go into affiliate marketing with the intention of creating a second income. Some people want to make big money. Depending on how much time you can dedicate to your affiliate business, and how dedicated you are to it, is a big factor in determining your results. Results vary from person to person. With a large advertising budget and the right business model, some affiliates have replaced their living in 6-12 months. For others it can take years before it replaces their existing income. Depending on your approach, advertising budget, and business model, it can take between 3 months and several years to build it to a point where it can replace an existing income.
4 Can Anyone Do It?
One of the great things about affiliate marketing is that the technology is now available to allow anyone to build their own online business. As long as you are prepared to learn and implement that knowledge, anyone who can operate an email, can use online platforms and tools to build their own online business. The main thing you need is the desire to learn. Affiliate marketing isn't for everyone though. It does take a lot of hard work and it can take years before you are rewarded financially.
5 What Are The Pitfalls Of An Affiliate Business?
You need to dedicate some time to your affiliate business for it to work for the long term. Some people go into affiliate marketing thinking it is some magic pill which will pay them instantly in cash. Much like a job you can't expect to get out more than you put in. Affiliate marketing is performance related. This means you don't get paid unless you can successfully sell products and services online. If you don't know what you are doing it can take years to do this. You can't be a dabbler and expect to earn the big money. The big earnings are created over years of hard work. Don't expect to achieve this with only a small amount of input.
6 What Are The Best Things About Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate marketing offers an incredible amount of flexibility and freedom. You can work an affiliate business from anywhere in the world providing you have a laptop and an internet connection. You can choose your own hours and build it up around existing work. Many people come into affiliate marketing because it offers this kind of flexibility. They can choose their priorities in life: spend more time with family, choose your working hours, travel and work abroad. No more commuting to work or working long hours for a boss you don't like.
Affiliate marketing also offers incredible scalability. A business which is local is always limited to the people who can travel to that business. An online business can be global. Using digital products in conjunction with a global reach, you can scale using tools and software to reach thousands of people through digital technology. By using automation much of the work involved with an online business can be pre-built. By building automation into the business model, you can focus your activities on reaching a larger audience through content creation and paid advertising.
7 Why Am I Struggling With My Affiliate Business?
A lot of people struggle with their affiliate businesses. This can be for a number of reasons. Firstly building up an affiliate business takes time. You need to dedicate a lot of time to an affiliate business in the first place. Only when you reach a 'tipping point' do you really start to see your progress. Many affiliates simply don't realise how much work is involved. They underestimate how much time they need to dedicate to their online business to make it work.
Paid advertising can allow you to grow your affiliate business quickly. But it costs money and you need the right products too. You can't advertise small value items with paid advertising. You won't generate enough profit to cover your advertising costs. You need a range of products and an email list to advertise through.
Content marketing takes much longer to work, depending on your chosen area of business. If you find an untapped niche to market your blog in, you can make some fast progress. However, with a competitive niche you will struggle to get noticed above all the other content which you will have to compete with. There's several reasons why you might struggle. The main one is lack of knowledge. Get the right education first and your affiliate business will move much faster.
8 What's The Best Affiliate Model To Use?
There are many different affiliate models, all offering something different to suit the individual. Some affiliates target search traffic and aim to get their content found on Google. Some create their own products and sell them directly to customers. However, having a range of products which you can sell over and over to existing customers is a great model for long term success. Selling a single item online is limited. It means you can only make one commission from each sale. By choosing membership products to promote which also offer back end sales and a built in sales team, you can benefit from monthly commissions and up-sell commissions for the lifetime of any given customer. Selling membership products is definitely a game changer when it come to affiliate marketing because you make an income from each customer, rather than a single commission. But a good model to choose is one in which you have a passion for and can keep doing for the long term. Choosing products which you have no interest in is a short sighted plan. Think about what you would like to do online to generate an income. If you choose to go with your passion, your business will last much longer, and be more successful.
9 Can I Just Sell My Own Products?
Many affiliates create their own products to sell online. However, when you are starting out it is a good idea to learn the basics of marketing first. That way you can start earning more quickly from your affiliate business. I spent a long time creating my own products when I first discovered affiliate marketing. But I didn't sell anything because of a couple of reasons. Firstly I didn't research whether my products would have a big enough demand. Secondly I didn't know how to market them. By joining a program which teaches you how to market products first, you can start making money more quickly. Don't waste time creating products if you don't know how to sell them. Marketing is a much more important skill for making money online. Once you know this skill, you can then apply it later when marketing your own products and services. Also your own products will be limited in range. By using an existing product range, you can benefit from products which are already selling. You can choose a program which offers high ticket commission, monthly memberships, back end sales and a built in sales team. Building your own products which offers all of these things not a possibility for most people when starting out.
10 What's The Point Of Affiliate Marketing?
Some people struggle with the concept of affiliate marketing. They think it sounds too 'salesy'. When I understood affiliate marketing I immediately found it appealing simply because I needed a flexible way to work around my contract work. I had to drop what I was doing at a moments notice if the phone went. This meant other jobs were awkward to juggle around. No-one wants to employ a 'flaky' employee. I wanted to work from my laptop and affiliate marketing gave me that opportunity. For many people this is the reason why they choose affiliate marketing. They can earn an income from their laptop, choose their working hours and not have a boss or place of employment. You don't have to sell directly to anyone or even talk to a customer. There is no stock to hold. Added to this, the scalability of affiliate marketing which lets you scale up to a global audience and deliver products on autopilot, makes it the best flexible business of the future.

Internet Marketing 101

Depending on whom you ask, the term Internet marketing can mean a variety of things. At one time, Internet marketing consisted mostly of having a website or placing banner ads on other websites. On the other end of the spectrum, there are loads of companies telling you that you can make a fortune overnight on the Internet and who try to sell you some form of "Internet marketing program".
Today, Internet marketing, or online marketing, is evolving into a broader mix of components a company can use as a means of increasing sales - even if your business is done completely online, partly online, or completely offline. The decision to use Internet marketing as part of a company's overall marketing strategy is strictly up to the company of course, but as a rule, Internet marketing is becoming an increasingly important part of nearly every company's marketing mix. For some online businesses, it is the only form of marketing being practiced.
Internet Marketing Objectives
Essentially, Internet marketing is using the Internet to do one or more of the following:
  • Communicate a company's message about itself, its products, or its services online.
  • Conduct research as to the nature (demographics, preferences, and needs) of existing and potential customers.
  • Sell goods, services, or advertising space over the Internet.
Internet Marketing Components
Components of Internet marketing (or online marketing) may include:
  • Setting up a website , consisting of text, images and possibly audio and video elements used to convey the company's message online, to inform existing and potential customers of the features and benefits of the company's products and/or services. The website may or may not include the ability to capture leads from potential customers or directly sell a product or service online. Websites can be the Internet equivalents of offline brochures or mail order catalogs and they are a great way to establish your business identity.
  • Search Engine Marketing (SEM), which is marketing a website online via search engines, either by improving the site's natural (organic) ranking through search engine optimisation (SEO), buying pay-per-click (PPC) ads or purchasing pay-for-inclusion (PFI) listings in website directories, which are similar to offline yellow page listings.
  • Email marketing, which is a method of distributing information about a product or service or for soliciting feedback from customers about a product or service through Email. Email addresses of customers and prospective customers may be collected or purchased. Various methods are used, such as the regular distribution of newsletters or mass mailing of offers related to the company's product or services. Email marketing is essentially the online equivalent of direct mail marketing.
  • Banner advertising, which is the placement of ads on a website for a fee. The offline equivalent of this form of online marketing would be traditional ads in newspapers or magazines.
  • Online press releases, which involve placing a newsworthy story about a company, its website, its people, and/or its products/services with on online wire service.
  • Blog marketing, which is the act of posting comments, expressing opinions or making announcements in a discussion forum and can be accomplished either by hosting your own blog or by posting comments and/or URLs in other blogs related to your product or service online.
  • , which involves writing articles related to your business and having them published online on syndicated article sites. These articles then have a tendency to spread around the Internet since the article services permit re-publication provided that all of the links in the article are maintained. Article marketing can result in a traffic boost for your website, and the distribution of syndicated articles can promote your brand to a wide audience.
  • , which can involve social networks like Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and social bookmarking sites like Digg.
Internet Marketing and Home Business
Of all of the components of Internet marketing, prospective customers and clients expect a business to have a website.
In fact, not having one could raise a red flag to a prospect. Online usage has become so pervasive today, many prospects might easily choose to do business with a company that they can get up-to-date information on 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
Even a business that only has very local customers, such as a single location restaurant or shoe store can benefit from having a website and engaging in online marketing. And, those businesses whose customers are not restricted to a geographical area might have a difficult time finding an alternate method of attracting customers that offers a reasonably low expense and worldwide reach of a Web presence.
Because of the "virtual" nature of most home businesses, websites, if not an absolute necessity, can certainly provide benefits to a home business operator. Since most home-based businesses don't have a physical location, a website provides an inexpensive means for prospects to get to know what you do or what you sell and can even be a "storefront" for selling goods and services directly.
The Internet has greatly enabled home businesses to prosper because of the reasonably low cost to start and maintain a web presence. Therefore, Internet marketing should be part of your business plan and your marketing strategy.
Finding the Right Internet Marketing Mix
How much of your marketing strategy should be handled online, which Internet marketing elements you use, and the importance you should give to your website depends on the nature of your business, your budget, and, to some extent, your personal traits? All of these considerations are part of strategic Internet marketing decisions that help develop Internet marketing strategies for a business.
Using Offline Elements with Internet Marketing Strategies
Unless you transact business only online, for example, if you are an eBay reseller, you will probably want to include some traditional offline marketing elements in your overall marketing strategy in addition to the elements in your Internet strategy in your marketing mix. Even those who conduct business only online might consider placing traditional ads in newspapers or magazines to bring prospects to their website to transact business online. Perfect examples of including offline elements as part of Internet marketing strategies are Expedia, Travelocity, and Monster.com. While they are online businesses, they invest heavily in traditional advertising, including radio and TV advertising, to draw traffic to their sites where the actual business is conducted.
Develop Internet Marketing Strategies You Like
If you have a personal distaste for "spam", which most of us do, you may not want to include email marketing in your strategic Internet marketing plan. However, email marketing doesn't have to mean just sending out unsolicited messages to every email address you can gather. If you include a visitor registration form on your website, for example, or if you exhibit at trade shows, you have the vehicles needed to collect email addresses of interested prospects. You might consider creating a newsletter and sending it to these prospects on a regular basis as part of your strategic Internet marketing plan. Or, you might just set up a schedule where you periodically send an email to your interested prospects to see how they're doing, if you can be of assistance to them, or if their needs have changed since you last talked. So even if you don't incorporate email marketing into your Internet marketing strategy, per se, you are still using email as a tool to promote your business.
Your Budget and Your Internet Marketing Strategy
Of course, your budget will also determine the components you use in any of the Internet marketing strategies you might develop. A website will require you to choose a domain name and register it and to purchase web hosting services from your website. Both items are deeply discounted, in fact, I recently saw an offer for domain name registration for only $1.99 per year - provided you also purchase other services, like hosting, which is now also available for less than $10 per month.
Once that's done, you'll need a design and content for your website, which you'll either need to provide yourself or pay to have a web content professional and/or web designer handle it for you.
Once your content and design are in place, you'll want your site to be found, so you'll want to learn about search engine optimisation (SEO), which is an important part of strategic Internet marketing, whether you do it yourself of pay someone else to do it for you.
Ideally, if you pay to have web content written for you, that content should be optimised for search engines when it's written. Likewise, you or your web designer should know something about SEO because how your site is designed can enhance or limit your site traffic, and in the vast majority of cases, SEO should be a significant part of your Internet marketing strategy. In both cases, you may pay a bit more, but you'll save time in the long run.
Once your website is up and running, you'll either need to maintain it yourself or outsource the duties to an independent Webmaster to do it for you.
Pay-per-click advertising (PPC), like Google AdWords, can be easy on your budget because you can specify how much you're willing to pay when someone clicks your ad and how much you're willing to pay per day. You can also specify whether you want to include your ad only on search pages or on other websites related to your keywords. You can set geographic and time of the day restrictions on when and where your ads run. Plus, PPC ads are fairly easy to activate and suspend whenever you need to do so, they're easy to update and they provide near real-time tracking benefits you won't get with most other elements in your Internet marketing strategy. You can also use images and/or videos with PPC advertising, which may be more cost effective than placing banner ads on other websites.
On the other side of the coin, you can use pay per click ads to make money with your website, through programs like Google AdSense, Yahoo Publisher or Microsoft AdCenter.
Tracking the Results of Internet Marketing Strategies
Let's face it: the average home business operator is not awash in cash. If you're going to be spending money on strategic Internet marketing initiatives, you'll need to track how effective they are. As you do so, you'll discover which Internet marketing strategies work for your business and which do not. And, you can learn from the mistakes you make in your Internet advertising campaign to improve your skills and enhance your success. Knowing what's worth spending money on and what isn't is very helpful in developing Internet marketing strategies as your business matures.
Strategic Internet Marketing Needs to be Flexible
Keep in mind, in most cases, patience is a true virtue when it comes to tracking the success of a strategic Internet marketing campaign. Search engines aren't likely to find you overnight and your strategies may not generate revenues right away.
Because you'll have literally millions of competitors who are also engaging in strategic Internet marketing, it will behoove you to keep on your toes and be ready to make necessary adjustments in your Internet marketing strategies when appropriate. However, some knowledge, some capable assistance, and a well-managed strategic Internet marketing plan can increase your chances for success.

Internet and Affiliate Marketing - 10 Critical Elements You Must Understand

Every day fortunes are made online. Just like anything else, it takes time, commitment, and perseverance. But what is most important for you to understand in order to have your efforts be profitable?
Here are the 10 critical elements of internet and affiliate marketing you MUST understand to be successful online, no matter what product or business you are promoting:

#1 DEMAND
-Are there enough hungry buyers for what you are selling?
-Do you have what a lot of people are looking for?
#2 TARGET MARKET
-When you are first starting out, look for proven markets where there are a huge number of customers. For example, every month there are several millions of people looking for home businesses
-Later you can expand into niche markets like affiliate marketers, realtors, stay at home moms, and network marketers
#3 PERSONAL BRANDING
-This can simply be your face, your name, and your unique selling proposition
-Why would someone want to do business with you?
#4 TRAFFIC GENERATION
-This is one of the biggest obstacles to overcome if you are new, but it can be done very effectively through strategies such as link building, article marketing, video marketing, and blogging, to name a few
#5 LIST BUILDING
-The biggest mistake those new to internet and affiliate marketing make is trying to sell their product as soon as their customers come to their website.
-Since only a small percentage of people will buy something from you and as a general rule, people need to hear a marketing message at least 7 times before they buy something, you must:
-Offer something of value for free in exchange for their contact information and have an email follow-up system to stay in contact with your potential customers to provide value, build trust, and develop familiarity

#6 CONVERSION
-Turning visitors into leads and turning leads into customers
-Professional marketers spend their efforts on increasing conversions and sometimes the smallest changes can make the biggest difference
#7 AFFILIATES
-You can recruit affiliates to sell your product
-Imagine 100's to 1000's selling your product over the internet
#8 RECURRING REVENUE STREAMS
-Getting paid several times for one purchase
-Examples: memberships or consumable goods
#9 MULTIPLE STEAMS OF INCOME
-If you only have one product, you are leaving money on the table
-It's much easier to get existing customers to buy from you rather than acquiring new customers
-Offer exceptional value and fill your customer's needs
-Have a sales process in place to introduce customers to different products over time
#10 JOINT VENTURES
-You can use this to share data bases and market your products
-Create new products with others.

Why Internet Businesses Fail

In the real world of brick and mortar business, every day millions of people are dragging themselves from their comfortable beds, performing their morning rituals of washing and breakfast to head to their jobs. In their daily grind some are thinking that there must be a better and easier way to make a living.
All these millions know someone or know of someone who has "made it" by quitting their boring existence and become their own boss using their own computers in the comfort and ease of home.
While the idea of working from home sounds like an ideal solution, most are just not preparing. Many of these unhappy people will just quit their jobs and jump right into the first internet marketing business they find with no preparation, no knowledge of what they are doing, no education, and no hope of success. Failure is their only option and they are not even aware of it.
According to many sources, more than 90% (Ninety percent) of all Internet business start-ups end in failure within the first 120 (one hundred twenty) days. And that number is all too accurate: NINETY PERCENT!
This alarming failure rate goes unheeded for a number of reasons:
1. Many don't know the statistical probabilities they face.
2. Many don't see themselves as being part of the failures or they wouldn't leap.
3. Many are talked into things they are unprepared for.
4. Many don't know the basic tenant of - "If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail."
Of course, success is still a possibility. There IS that other 10% (ten percent) that do succeed. For them, success doesn't happen by accident. And success isn't just a crap shoot. Success happens because of some very important factors.
Success happens because people learn about internet marketing and how it works. They do not expect to get rich quick or be able to make a killing overnight and retire to a tropical isle.
It is strange but somehow the same people, who wouldn't dream of starting a real world business, think they can make a go of an internet business even though they have no business background.
People think that an internet business just means that they no longer have to get up and go to work. They think they can simply work when the feel like it and still make a good living. They do not understand that any business requires them to work hard and sometimes work long hours.
Some Wrong Ideas on the Internet
That 90% failure rate of new Internet businesses really is not surprising when you think about the sort of people who start an internet business.
Most people seem to think that being a successful internet marketer is as easy as getting a website built and getting their own domain name and they could not be farther from reality.
Being a successful internet marketer requires self-discipline. People read books like "4 Hour Work Week" and think that partying all night, sleeping until noon and then 3 or 4 hours with a computer will make them rich.
There is not a magic button to push to have instant massive traffic to their million-dollar-like website and fistfuls of cash in their bank. It is just not going to happen.
Internet marketing does not run on auto-pilot. And while established internet marketing types do not put in the long, boring hours they have built their businesses by doing that in the past.
It does not happen overnight for anybody. Most people are not prepared for the time requirement necessary for an internet business to achieve success.

They Do Not Have a Business Background
All businesses whether large or small, Internet or "brick and mortar" have two things in common: they are a BUSINESS and must be operated like a business! Business people must understand accepted business practices.
There are simple and basic concepts like "acceptable over-head expenses in relation to projected income". All entrepreneurs need to understand profit and loss and what constitutes each.
It is not a requirement to have a college degree in business to be successful but it wouldn't hurt. On the other hand some basic business knowledge is an absolute necessity.
If it is difficult to balance your check book, then it might be a good idea to keep your day job and forget about being in business.
Yes, you can hire an accounting firm that will tell you WHEN to make tax deposits, but they will not tell you IF you need to make tax deposits.
An accountant can tell you if you made a profit but not how you make it. If you have no business background get some good business advice before you consider opening any business.
The fact is that all successful businesses follow the rules of sound business principles. A successful business is not an accident. The numbers tell the story that only 10% of all new internet businesses are successful or are even still in existence after their first 120 days.
Even the expectation of profit is not reasonable for the first few month.
Have sufficient resources available for everything from startup costs to personal needs for a period of time. It's called "capital" and there is no alternative to plenty of it.
They Do Not Have The Right Mindset!
Most of us have heard the phrase, "He has an attitude!" And it is often a derogatory remark made about a person with a negative attitude.
The word "attitude" is important when thinking about marketing start-ups. A good attitude or a good mind set will not guarantee success but a bad attitude or a bad mind set can guarantee failure.
Let's examine a few attitudes that will absolutely guarantee failure:
1. I can work when I want to. This is absolutely wrong! You cannot just work when it suits you. Expect many long and sometimes boring hours of hard work for your business to succeed.
2. I can get rich quick! This is a dangerous one. While getting rich quick is possible, there are too many "get rich quick" schemes that are only ways for the unscrupulous to take advantage of the willing. Expect to be wealthy in whatever time it takes. It is possible to make a very comfortable living in internet marketing but it is not usually quick or easy.
3. I don't need a business plan. Internet business is still a business. All business principles apply to online business as they do to brick and mortar business. It is imperative that you have a plan for your success based on sound business principles.
4. Internet business people do not have a boss. You are the boss. A good boss sees that all work is completed on time and in full, or you will fail. Set up a work schedule and goals to meet or you will find yourself working at a job under a boss who does do those things and maybe for minimum wage.
Ways to Avoid Failure
Starting a business... any business... has no guarantee of success, period!
Even large multi-national businesses can fail in a new business venture. Failure is always an option and the possibility or probability of success can be enhanced.
You can increase your possibility of success by:
1. Making a business plan BEFORE starting your online business. To remind you one of the things I said at the beginning: "If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail." A plan for success is a requirement. Have the steps listed in great detail including reasonable cost estimates for completing each step.
2. Expect to work hard to achieve your goals. Never expect things to be easy. Most of the time things are not as easy as they appear. Each successive step will require its own work, time and patience. Sometimes things don't go right on the first try. Be willing to keep going again and again until you succeed.
3. Do not fall for a get-rich-quick schemes. The internet woods are full of those who prey upon those who are looking for quick and easy ways to become rich. Most are ways for the other person to get rich quick from your money.
Remember those statistics! Ninety percent of all new internet businesses fail in the first 120 days. You don't have to be part of that majority. You can become a part of that 10% minority of successful internet business enterprises. Find something that others are having success with - to the level you want your own success, do what they do, and you will have your own success. Be prepared to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes.

How To Start Small Business Online

We are living in a completely different world now and there are thousands of people all over the world that are losing their jobs. They are not only losing their jobs, but also that sense of security that was promised to them after going to college and getting a degree. There is no question that this making people think twice about the idea of continuing to be 9 to 5 workers in companies that are no longer interested in providing them with any safety and security at all. This is the reason why the idea of starting their own business ventures has become so popular for a large number of people.
Starting a small business has become easier than ever before thanks to the internet. You no longer need to open up a physical store or office in order to start a business. You can now use the internet for every single aspect of your business. If you have an item that you want to sell, you can easily do it online and ship the products to any location in the world. The advantages also include the use of social media for promotional purposes and even to sell those products.
When you decide that you want to start your own business venture, you need to consider certain things. First you need to find out just how crowded you niche is. A good example is with people who decide to get into the clothing business. They know that this is very competitive market so they need to provide something unique that no one else is selling if they want to succeed. Other people prefer the idea of starting a business in a smaller niche that is not as crowded, but in this situation the challenge can be to find enough clients.
All business ventures have risks and they also have advantages. This is going to be something that can provide full time income if you know how to run it and if you understand the kind of strategies that you need in order to succeed. The first thing that everyone needs to remember when they start their own business is that they need to work even harder than they would as employees. Success in the business world is far from easy and if it was then everyone would do it. This is the kind of thing that you need to consider before you get started.
Your business will require that you sacrifice a lot of time for fun and dedicate your time to making that business grow. This is the kind of thing that truly separates those who find success from those who fail and that applies for everything in life. There is no luck involved at all because your hard work and your desire to succeed will always be the main ingredients for success. You pick a profitable business model, you work hard to make it grow and you work even harder to keep your business in the top ranks. The steps are simple but the journey is long and difficult. The good news is that the rewards are truly amazing and you will be able to work on your own Schedule and make time for your family and friends and to do the things you love.
Starting your own small business is a decision that could change your life forever. Just make sure that you are ready for the challenge and you will probably do great. Also do your research on all of the legal protocols that you need to consider before you can start selling certain products and services to the public.

Make money by Selling Your Stuff Online

What Types Of Things Sell Online?
Not all items sell well online. Depending on what you have to sell, you may be better off having that yard sale after all. Like commerce of any kind, it's all about supply and demand. With this in mind, obviously things that are relatively rare that a lot of people would like to have do best. According to eBay, antiques, collectibles, memorabilia, rare books, designer handbags, DVD's and music CD's are a few of the items that tend to do well. I have personally found that used college textbooks can also be a great thing to sell online. Skip the beanie babies and most fiction books though; the market is just too saturated. If you are on the fence about selling something, it's best to check and see what other people are getting for the same or a similar item. Make sure to factor in the time it takes to take a picture, post and ship the item.
eBay vs. Amazon
There are many different websites that allow you to sell your stuff online, but I'm only looking at eBay and Amazon in this article because they represent the two most popular types of selling websites. eBay is primarily an auction based website. When you post something here, the listing only lasts for a certain amount of time, usually a week. When you enter the item, you will need to enter a "reserve price", this is the lowest amount you are willing to accept for the item. Keep in mind that the fees eBay charges are based on this reserve price. The more the reserve, the more eBay charges in fees. You can put a really low reserve price to cut down on fees, but check to see if the item is likely to sell for a decent price before doing this or you may end up selling it for $0.99. Amazon is a lot more straightforward. You can only sell a product that is already listed on their website, but that's virtually everything. Since you are selling a used item they already have on the website, you don't have to take a picture and your listing stays up until you sell it or take it down. The downside is that Amazon's fees are higher. So which is better? It really depends on what you're trying to sell. eBay let's you sell absolutely anything and with an auction there is the potential to make more money. Amazon is a lot less hassle though, and your time can be worth a lot.
Sellers Beware
I myself have been selling on Amazon and I recently had an experience that I thought was worth sharing. I have been using Amazon to sell old textbooks and a few DVD's. One day I logged in to my seller account to find that I had an extremely poor seller rating. When I clicked on my feedback, I found that one of the people I had sold a DVD to, had written a scathing review of the DVD and gave me a 1 out of 5 rating on my selling account. When I saw this, I was pretty upset. Instead of putting her review where it belonged on the product review page, she had used my seller feedback page. She may not have enjoyed the DVD, but I had done my job as a seller, which is to ship the correct item to the address listed in a timely fashion. Unfortunately, there isn't much I can do about it. I tried to contact the buyer to see if there was anything that I could do to get her to remove the negative feedback, but I never heard back from her. Part of the problem was that I didn't go out of my way to get feedback from the satisfied buyers. If I had, my seller rating wouldn't have taken such a big hit. I guess the lesson to be learned is that selling online really is a buyer's market. Do your best to make customers happy and follow up with them to get good feedback when they are.
There definitely is money to be made from selling your used stuff online, but you have to do your research and make sure the item you want to sell is worth the work involved. If you do, you may find that you are sitting on a good source of extra money.
