Home Based Business of Internet and Affiliate Marketing - Why We Sometimes Fail

In my continuing articles concerning Internet and affiliate marketing, I want to talk about success and failure in the industry. Success is something that often eludes many affiliate marketers with the result that they drop out after a not inconsiderable investment of time and energy (to say nothing of money).
So what is the difference between those that fail and those that go on to make a good living at Internet and affiliate marketing?
Its not "smarts" because plenty of people have made significant money and have only been of average intelligence. Genius has never been a prerequisite. After all, there are smart people making a minimum wage existence.
Is it the amount of work or whether or not a person works "hard?" This certainly can't be it because there are both so called "white and blue collar" workers who, though they have different jobs and apply themselves differently to the task at hand, still work hard and receive sometimes average or even inadequate compensation.
What is it then? What is the reason why people fail to succeed in Affiliate and Internet marketing?
As I look back on my success, I consider both the things I did and didn't do that got me where I am. There have been lots of dollars at times and at others a dribble. Each time I was successful there was one overarching reason. When I failed it was almost always because I didn't do in that case what I did in the successful case. So what was it?
I did or didn't become an authority on my chosen subject matter.
Irrespective of what it is: Internet marketing of physical products, e-book creation, marketing of digital or software products, or reselling for Amazon or eBay, I learned everything I could about the product AND the market where it was to be sold. And when I didn't, I either failed miserably or made so little profit as to make the effort a pyrrhic success.
I have found that concentrating on a single objective, to the exclusion of everything else, is the right key to being successful in this business.
The idea that success comes to those who are a "jack of all trades, master of none" simply has not born fruit, at least not in my case.
My experience has demonstrated that the acquisition of expertise in Internet marketing is the only way to acquire the nice cars, the fancy homes, and the "good living" that we are all led to believe is just around the corner.
The only way I have found to get there is through mastery of the craft. It's as pure and simple as that.
Be the BEST at what you are doing!
Think about this for a moment: you have two individuals from the same level of society, same basic education. They both become pilots and make a very reasonable salary. One, however, continues to become a test pilot, and then astronaut, and finally a PhD in astrophysics. One remained a generalist or simply a pilot while the other specialized and became an expert in his/her field.
Who do you think made more money, which became more affluent?

The specialist, the EXPERT.
This is a lesson I have applied to everything I do. I don't go off half-cocked; I don't assume I know enough about this or that market. I do my research, I apply due diligence to understand the terrain where I will be working. In short, I become the expert in my niche.
After a certain point in your education, continuing to learn a little about email list building or a little about ad copy writing is only going to lead to a vast gap in your knowledge.
To generalize is to court disaster in the field of Internet Marketing.
You need to become an expert in the segment of the market you find the most interesting and have the most talent. The reason why I and others succeed is because we stick with what we are good at and improve those skills over the years. And never ever stop learning, talking, and reading about new developments.
You need to become an authority in the segment of the market of your choice
At this point you should be saying "Well, that's great. How do I become an expert in a field and what field should it be?"
Training. Training is the answer. If there was ever a field so obscure, clouded, and seeded with land mines, its Internet marketing. But you should not let this discourage you because it isn't rocket science and anybody can become successful if they just get the right training.
So where do you get this training you may be asking and is it possible there is a "pitch" coming here?
No pitch. Because the truth is undeniable: there is an excellent chance you will fail without the training. I can think of several reputable on-line organizations that train new affiliates (some are inexpensive and some are not).
Wealthy Affiliate, in my opinion, is the best there is.
Yes, I am an affiliate of Wealthy Affiliate. But you know what else? I am a member and I pay my dues just like the rest of the members. This is because I believe in there training and their commitment to the industry.
Wealthy Affiliate will provide you the basic training you need and they do one better: They provide specific industry segment training as well. For instance, wealthy affiliate has an entire separate course devoted to Pay Per Click marketing and another on Article Marketing (my chosen area of specialty). These courses are above and beyond the substantial content you get as a general member and they will move you down the road of advanced training and, incidentally, make you an expert.
I think it's a rather funny thought: anybody successful in Internet and affiliate marketing can make much more money than Astrophysicist ever will. And let's not forget all the schooling you don't have to do for it!
Here is the bottom line: With the right kind of training you will receive at Wealthy Affiliate, you will be well on your way to making a great income and to becoming an expert in your field. Imagine how you will be building wealth for those 10 years in Internet and affiliate marketing while the new Astrophysicists are....studying.

Internet and Affiliate Marketing Programs - Or How Am I Paid?

If you do a cursory review on Google covering the search phrase "affiliate marketing programs" you are likely to be regaled on the following topics: pay per click, pay per sale, pay per performance, pay per lead, single and multi-tiered payment plans, and residual income. While fascinating, they are not affiliate marketing programs. More correctly they are plans of compensation to the marketer and a means of exchange of goods.
So, what is the difference between an Affiliate Marketing Program and a plan of compensation?
An Affiliate Marketing Program is: a structured method, plan, or operation representing a market and by which a product(s) is advertised, offered for sale, and includes an exchange mechanism for transferring the product and the corresponding remuneration or payment. In short, what you sell, how you sell it, and how you get paid is "the program."
A Plan of Compensation is: a process or mechanism WITHIN an affiliate marketing program that facilitates the transference of cash or other monetary instrument for the exchange of products or services. In short, it's what gets the customer the product and you the cash when the advertising has convinced the customer that your market is valuable and the product(s) therein worth purchasing.
In review, an Affiliate Marketing Program consists of:
1. A market of goods
--- Possibly a niche market
2. A product or products for sale
3. A product showcase-website or other "place" to see the product
4. An advertising strategy
5. A payment and product exchange plan
Having said this and offered some correction of terminology, we should cover the ways we get paid for our well thought out affiliate marketing program. While some would argue that this is the whole point of the exercise, to get paid, I would like to suggest that that perception will not sell many products nor endear you to your customer.
You don't want to make a sale, you want happy motivated to return customers so you can make many sales.
Pay Per Sale is the compensation method most familiar to Internet and affiliate marketers. In a pay per sale method the marketer is paid for a product or service. Often this is a direct sale of a product the marketer sells.

Pay Per Performance is transaction that happens only after a certain set of criteria have been met, namely, a product sale. This is a favoured mechanism by merchants because they provide no compensation to the marketer until such time as a product has actually been made. All costs of advertising and "herding" customers to a merchant's site are borne by the marketer. If there is no purchase, the merchant incurs no cost and the marketers must continue to convince customers to buy in order to cover his/her costs.
Pay Per Lead is a method that does not rely upon a sale to consummate payment to a marketer. Instead, a marketer is paid when a customer or "lead" lands on the site and fills out a questionnaire. This kind of payment method is based upon a fixed fee and is the same whether 2 or 200 people are referred to the website. This system is most often used by finance and insurance companies and is not a common method in other venues of the Internet and affiliate marketing industry
Pay Per Click is a well defined system of payment within the Internet and affiliate Marketing industry. It most commonly takes the form of the Google AdSense or the Yahoo Publisher Network programs. The pay per click system requires that a website(s) host the AdSense or Yahoo "ads" on any of its web pages. When people reading the ads actually click through the ad to its target web address, the advertiser is charged a fee and a portion of that fee is given to the web host. Essentially, the product the marketer is selling is the "real estate" on his/her webpage. This is a method of "monetizing" your website and is usually an additional income and not the primary source of marketer income.
Multi-tiered and Residual payments are the most sought after compensation plans because the income is an extended, or better, a continuous stream. The primary difference is one of duration. In the multi-tiered plan you receive a commission for a sale and if the customer returns within a specified time to buy again, you again get a commission. In the residual plan, the payments can conceivably be endless. Affiliates selling to affiliates are the most obvious model. Affiliate "A" sells to "affiliate "B." Affiliate "A" gets a commission every time Affiliate "B" makes a purchase, but not only that, if affiliate "B" sells to "C" and "D," affiliate "A" gets a commission from all three. There are a limited set of products that use this compensation plan but they are usually extremely lucrative.
Internet and affiliate marketing programs promote, advertise, and sell products. Compensation plans provide a means of exchanging product for cash or other instrument of compensation. The compensation plan is a component of the Internet and affiliate marketing program.
Now let's get out there and hock your wares!

Online Affiliate Marketing For Home Business

Online affiliate marketing began as a natural outgrowth of the popularity of "linking" to other sites. To put it simply, online affiliate marketing is a time tested strategy for making money online. It it is a network of online partners who refer business to your website.
It does not matter whether you have a website that sells a product or a website that has nothing to sell. But by adding online affiliate programs, you can not only add value to your website, but also maximize potential revenue.
Affiliate Programs, they say are the ideal way to make your website profitable.
Online affiliate programs began in the mid - 1990's and are currently a popular way to earn money online. In fact, research shows that affiliate marketing is the most cost-effective way to generate online sales. The concept of revenue sharing paying commission for referred business, predates affiliate marketing and the Internet. The translation of the revenue share principles to mainstream e-commerce happened almost four years after the origination of the World Wide Web in November 1994.
The simplest way is to just introduce your visitors to the business opportunities, products and services that they need, and, make money based on commissions from these sales. In fact, online affiliate marketing is a great work from home business available to anyone with a computer and a desire to run their own affiliate business.
However, there is a catch to affiliate marketing. That is to say over 80% of affiliates never get a check over $100, the 15% get the occasional check and it is the remaining 5% who really get monthly checks of any real size from affiliate programs.
To get started in affiliate marketing, you must know the fundamentals. For which you're going to need an affiliate marketing guide to teach you the basics. Once you've studied the basics and grasped the "idea", I don't think there is any looking back.
Now, there are dozens of books advertised on various websites, making claims of massive earnings that can be achieved easily. Most of these guides are resell rights of other peoples' ideas which are marketed under the marketers' name. Now, there will be a time you may be doing the same thing what they are doing now. This is a natural phase most people go through and isn't that what affiliate marketing is all about!
I am not saying those books are bad. But there are better ones out there. There is The Affiliate Marketers Handbook and the Super Affiliate Handbook. Recently, another book that is drawing much attention, purely because of the number of sales it has generated in such a short time is the Rich Jerk. The name justifies his character and the book in general, doesn't convey much. However, the ideas he has put forward seem to work and as a result the book seems to be on top of the charts. Now what more can you say, but to commend on his niche idea.

You can also look for more such good product(s) and which are in high demand from the ClickBank Mall. Just type "affiliate marketing" or affiliate marketing guides and you would get instant access to loads to such products. Provide them your credit card details and voila! you can instantly download the book of your choice. What more do you want - you have a product with no investment which you can market and make money.

Although most affiliate marketing books are good in their own way, what boils down is to how you implement the knowhow you gained from it practically. Although this may take up some some time, it is to be noted that no books nor any marketing courses can come anywhere close to pure practical experience. Some good affiliate guides are given below in the resources section.
Learning to market on the internet as an affiliate is only step one. If you're serious about online affiliate marketing, then you have to plan and set up a basic affiliate campaign. This is a start to finish campaign to getting started in affiliate marketing. It explains keyword research, finding profitable partners and markets, information on affiliate networks, guides and resources to making money online.
There is relatively an easy way to make a parallel income during the early stages of your online affiliate marketing home business. It can also help you avoid the common mistakes most of us make during that period. I am quoting this from personal experience.
Try and get hold of a FREE Web Page, containing a few successful affiliate programs. There are a few companies that give away such a page so that newbies can get a feel of what affiliate marketing is all about. You can use it and learn how to run an affiliate campaign, at the same time learning the ropes of affiliate marketing. If you market this well, the chances are you will make money. Your main and only job would be to advertise your FREE website, by submitting it to search engines, e-mail it to friends, colleagues and others. If all goes well, within a month or so you shall see some income trickling in.
In addition to that, you also get familiar with search engine marketing, affiliate networks and affiliate directories, and other areas of online affiliate marketing.
Once again, welcome to the world of online affiliate marketing and home business.

Initial Thoughts on Internet and Affiliate Marketing

When I think of how I got started in Internet Marketing or Affiliate Marketing I have to go back in time about 35 to 40 years. To the time when I got my first "real" job in a clothing store. The store was called "The Model" and I was the youngest salesperson there. This was the time and place that I learned that it didn't matter what my judgment was, this is good or bad, but that my opinion was important. In marketing and especially Affiliate marketing it is up to the customer to determine if it is good or bad (make a judgment) but it is up to me to offer as unbiased opinion as possible. There were many times working at "The Model" that my judgment said that this is the most horrible outfit I could possibly imagine, it was bad period. I determined that no one should buy the outfit and I would not recommend it. As you can imagine some items ended up on the sale rack unnecessarily and over time the owner learned what I was doing. Don't get me wrong I was the top seller and that surprised the owner but she had to give me my first lesson in marketing: Find out what the customer needs or wants. I suppose that at that time I was young enough to think I knew it all. I know now that I do not.

As I moved on in life I became a model. During this phase in my life I learned lesson number two about Internet and Affiliate marketing: Listen to the customer. As a model everyday I was told what to wear and how to wear it. I had to deliver an emotion on command and capture an idea from the art director, the photographer and the client. Of course these ideas rarely agreed. If I had the guts to state my opinion I would be sent to the metaphorical dunce chair and never booked by the client again. I simply didn't know that ethereal, out of this world and innocent were synonyms or in Internet and Affiliate marketing terms keywords.
Also, during this time of my life I sent myself to finishing school. Yes the place where you learn how to sit, walk, talk, eat, dress, introduce yourself and many other helpful social skills. I knew I was unlearned or raw and that if I didn't do something about it I would never achieve most of my career goals in life. This is were I learned Internet and Affiliate marketing lesson number three: Be kind and considerate to your customers, treat them well. When I started finishing school, as I said, I was raw. I had good intentions and truly desired to be polite and kind. To feel comfortable around important people and to know when it was OK to put yourself forward. I grew up in a poor family and we were not able to afford extra "lessons". I thought that because I was poor and uneducated that I was less important. Throughout my time in finishing school the knowledge that a truly skilled, socially adept person was not always in the front of the camera was driven home. I have become comfortable with being the first to introduce myself, with sending thank you notes and volunteering what is new in my life. In Internet and Affiliate marketing this comfort level leads you to use email campaigns successfully.

5 Reasons the Online Affiliate Business 'Rocks

The online affiliate business is perfect for the typical start up entrepreneur due to extremely low startup costs and the ability to make money quickly. These two factors alone make this a very attractive business model but it gets even better. Here are 5 reasons the online affiliate marketing business may in fact be the best business to start online.
Startup Costs
For most any start up entrepreneur startup costs can be a concern but the online affiliate marketing business keeps these costs to a minimum. The only investment may be the cost of a hosting service which is virtually pennies per day.
Ability to Profit Quickly
Being able to choice from literally thousands of products or services and begin to immediately promote them allows for the opportunity of a quick profit. Affiliate marketing lets you center your focus exclusively on just the promotional aspects of the business which is of course how the money is made.
No Product Development
An online affiliate marketing business does not require you to invest time or money into product development since this is already done for you. This business involves selling 'other people's products' saving you from having to make the investment. This allows you to get a fast start with your business.
No Customer Support
Every reputable company has a customer support system and this can be a headache to set up and manage. As an affiliate marketer you do not have to concern yourself with this aspect of the business since it is handled by the product creator, all you do is sell and collect commissions.
Unlimited 'Proven' Product to Choose
Products you represent as an affiliate are 'proven' and already have a demand so there is no question as to their popularity. Another huge advantage is that the product creator has a professionally designed sales page to which you can direct customers. In a manner of speaking all the 'heavy' lifting is already done for you. All you need to do is 'direct traffic' to these sites and earn a commission for doing so.
The online affiliate business offers a very real chance for any start up entrepreneur to make money quickly without investing a lot of cash. The typically low startup costs make it possible for virtually anyone with ambition to start their own online affiliate marketing business. The 5 reasons we reviewed above present a fair argument as to why affiliate marketing may possibly be the best business to start online today.

The Promise of Online Affiliate Marketing

When Amazon.com first launched in the mid-1990s as the world's biggest online bookstore, no one could have imagined how it would grow into the behemoth retailer of practically everything under the sun. Yet that's how online e-commerce has evolved in the past 2 decades.
E-commerce sales on Amazon.com this year are ready to touch a mind-boggling $1.2 TRILLION, making it one of the largest - and fastest growing - business sectors the world has ever seen. Millions of online sellers are building their own amazing selling machines on the platform every day, and leveraging the massive crowd of buyers that Amazon has aggregated on its platform to sell a host of different things.
And we're nowhere close to slowing down. In fact, most experts tell us that we are on the cusp of a mighty expansion in capacity that is set to dwarf everything else we've seen until now. The good news is that this creates a lovely opportunity for any enterprising entrepreneur, big or small business owner, to take advantage of this book.
Many vendors including those with 6-figure annual revenues from e-commerce ventures on the Internet began their careers as affiliate marketers. They offered products and services that were created by other businesses, and saw that there was potential in the niche. They then went on to build businesses around these areas and fulfill orders themselves.
Amazon was one of the popular choices for affiliates to learn the ropes about e-retailing. And as they grew to offer products across wide swathes of the online marketplace, millions of affiliate marketers flocked to the portal to sign up as associates and promote these products to their own audience of buyers.

They could offer the world's top brands and best-known products directly to their homes, by ordering them over the Internet. Online retailer affiliates didn't even have to touch a product or ship it out to buyers. They just earned a healthy referral income from referring new customers to the service.
Anyone who already comes from a retail selling background will find this very appealing as they can now attract new audiences to offers over the Internet and by advertising on social networks like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. It's even possible to develop a nice supplementary sideline to an existing offline retail chain, where the website and online customers become additional assets to your company that complement regular in-store buyers.

Work From Home And Enjoy Passive Income For Life

Day after day you drag yourself out of bed to go to a job which you probably don't even like very much, working long hours for peanuts, coping with train strikes and traffic jams on your daily commute.
Have you ever wondered if there is more to life than this? Could there be another way to earn a living?
Have you ever heard of passive income?
Passive income is where you do the work just once then sit back and let the money come in virtually on auto pilot. This leaves you with plenty of free time to enjoy life with your friends and family, take holidays whenever you want and not just for two weeks in summer, to spend your days doing what you want, not what someone else tells you to do. And to have enough money to live life on your terms.
The most reliable route to passive income is through internet marketing.
This can take several forms; Selling your own products online via a simple website which is free to set up. Promoting other people's products as an affiliate and earning commission for every sale they make. Buying the licence to ready-made digital products and having the right to sell them as your own, internationally. And many more proven methods of making a very lucrative income online.
Affiliate marketing is good for those who don't yet have an idea for their own product or the money to buy licences. The biggest marketplace for affiliates is ClickBank.com. There are literally thousands of products available with vendors paying, on average, between 50% and 80% in commissions. All you have to do is to send prospects to the vendor's website and the vendor will do the rest. A website is not essential (although it helps with product promotion) and you don't need to do anything complex in order to make money.
Product licensing is very lucrative and licenses can be bought for surprisingly little. You then have a ready-made product which you can sell worldwide. You don't even need to make any copies or post them to buyers as orders can be processed through a fulfilment house - for a very small fee they will make a copy of your product, wrap it and ship it to the customer. Leaving you with more time to enjoy life.
Just imagine being able to walk into your boss's office and hand in your notice. To see a fabulous new car and pay cash for it. To book that exotic holiday that you've been craving for years but have never had the money. To put your children through private school and university without the stress of student loans. How would that feel? What would that be worth to you?
There is work to be done initially but once it's done you can sit back and relax, knowing that everything is ticking away nicely in the background. Dream come true? No, it can be the reality. Your reality. You owe it to yourself and your family to make 2017 the year that you grab the opportunity to live life on your terms.

5 Real Ways to Make Money Online

This has always been a great question, and there are many different schools of thought on this subject.
A person could argue products like software, eBooks, and virtual information are amongst the most marketable as they are easy to duplicate and have no shipping costs. It's true a virtual product can absolutely simplify your post-sale process, however are they truly the best overall product strategy? In my opinion it all comes down to the demand, then the numbers. Calculate what price you can create or retain a product for and then calculate what price you can sell it for while keeping in mind advertising, shipping, and other expenses that fall between those two processes.
Determine your total costs from start to finish. I wouldn't even consider selling a product or service that fetches me any less than 80 percent gross profit per unit, unless it had a great backend or up-sell strategy or some type of recurring subscription based profit model.
lf you find that managing inventory or working with suppliers and drop shippers is more slanted towards your personal experience then work with a product that feels comfortable with you, you will benefit from the familiarity. The importance of comfort might just be the most influential factor for me when choosing a product to wrap around your marketing. Many people want to sell online but have no idea what products to sell. In my experience selling something for profit alone with no personal passion can be a mistake and I have found that building an email list for marketing and growing your brand is a cheap effective way to get started quickly.
5 Products you can sell and make money using "email marketing".
  1. Digital products and virtual services. Digital products are easy to duplicate, store, and ship digitally via email or file sharing service.
  2. Affiliate marketing programs. Many companies online look for enthusiastic individuals to resell their products or services. Scrolling to the footer of a business's website will typically link to any affiliate program if offered. You can also search for specific affiliate programs that suit your needs.
  3. Trendy products that are in demand. Great way to let product buzz and word of mouth help your cause. The Google Trends tool will show you the current trends of your product ideas based on total search volumes. This can be a great way to determine what's currently popular.
  4. Start your own business. Get creative and bring your ideas online with a website or product page selling your creations, products or services. Accepting payments is easy these days with services like PayPal and all you need to do is promote your website using email marketing.
  5. Freelance writing services, or create a blog. Writing can be an interesting and rewarding way to make money online. You can publish and sell eBooks, blog posts can generate revenue from ads or affiliate links, sponsors, or you can write about your current products for sale.
When sending email in large volumes always be sure you choose a true high volume, web-based email marketing software that can grow with your ongoing success.

Successful Internet Business - 4 Simple Steps

STEP 1. To A Successful Internet Business
Find something you feel is a good successful internet business opportunity. You can scour the internet for all sorts of different business ideas and opportunities. Doing a search on any search engine with the keywords Work At Home, Business Opportunities, Home Based Business, Make Money Online, etc., will produce 1000′s of different search results. Home business program ZNZ is THE ABSOLUTE BEST successful internet business opportunities out there because the ONLY thing you need to do to run your internet business is to market your link. With a traditional business you must deal with inventory, storage, packing, shipping, complaints, returns, phone calls, emails, checks and credit cards just to name a few! Not so withZNZ program.
STEP 2. To A Successful Internet Business
Getting your own webpage is #1 priority to a successful internet business. You want to put your internet business on a webpage of your own. A webpage is like a store front. It projects respect to your business and who you are. Think about it. Do you feel the same about buying from a vendor on the street as you do about buying from a person in a store? They're both vendors, but the store gives you a certain feeling about the person you are buying from that a street vendor just can't give you! Your webpage does not have to be fancy. If you only have a brief description of what your webpage is about along with individual descriptions of your product or products people will respect that. Do not disclose too much in your description because people might THINK they know what it is all about and not click on your link. You want to let your affiliate website do all the selling for you. These sites are professionally designed to maximize the number of people who buy or join so a brief description, just enough to spike their curiosity, is sufficient.
STEP 3. To A Successful Internet Business
Get your own Blog and make one post a day. A Blog, short for, "Web Log," is a great way to establish yourself as an authority figure on whatever topic you decide. As people return to read your daily articles, they will eventually come to view you as an authority on whatever your Blog is about. They will eventually develop confidence in what you are saying, and will begin to trust you. As a result some people will check out your webpage to see what you have to offer them, and people tend to buy more from people they know and trust. Their confidence in you will be an additional factor that will compel people to buy from you. There are many places online that will host and let you set up your Blog for free.
STEP 4. To A Successful Internet Business
Write and submit articles to article submission sites. This is the key to a successful internet business. This is how you will get FREE advertising! People are searching the internet for free information. When you submit your articles online, the search engines will eventually find them and will spider every word. When people do a search using keywords or phrases that are in your articles, they will turn up in the search results, so be sure to insert highly searched for keywords and phrases into your articles! You will need to include at the bottom of all your articles your bio. Your bio will contain a brief description about who you are along with a link to your website. It might read for instance [ John Doe is the owner of yoursite.com. John helps people to work at home using various business opportunities that include affiliate programs. If you desire your own home based business visit http:// www. yoursite.com ] The more articles you write and submit, the higher the chances are of your articles keywords and phrases showing up on search results. The more links you have pointing back to your website, the higher your websites page rank with the search engines will be, meaning the higher up on the search results will your article turn up, so don't stop writing and submitting articles! I do want to stress however, quality over quantity. Take your time and check your spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, etc. No one will take what you have to say seriously if you don't write correctly.
So there you have it! Having a successful internet business is simply a matter of understanding how things work, and applying that knowledge. It does not take any special skill or any great intelligence. If you follow these steps, you cannot fail. The most important thing to have successful internet business as with anything in life, is persistence. And watch your internet business grow!

10 Reasons Why You Should Start An Online Business

Whether you are attracted to an internet business because you hate your current job, want to improve your circumstances, or would like a more flexible lifestyle, the internet offers all these opportunities.
Why An Internet Business?
1- Flexibility
Many people come to find themselves with an internet business through necessity rather than deliberate creation. For me, I needed a flexible job which I could work around contract work. It didn't come in often but when the phone rang, I needed to take the work. This presented all kinds of problems. Normal work didn't pay as well and employers didn't want me taking large chunks of time off when the other work came in!
I tried juggling several jobs over a number of years but nothing seemed to fit. At around the same time I was attempting to use e-bay to buy and sell for a bit of extra money. It wasn't until later that I discovered affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing, for those who don't know is a kind of referral selling. You point links from your website to other people's goods and services. The link is tracked so that when you make a sale you are rewarded for it with a commission.
Once you know how to do this you can set up links from your online content to other people's products and services. You can also use paid advertising to find people all over the world to sell to. This was perfect for my work because I could take my laptop anywhere with me and as long as I had an internet connection I could work. It didn't interfere with the work when it came up, I had no boss to answer to so it was the perfect solution.
2 - Automation
There's also a number of other reasons why I chose an internet business - and why you should too! The flexibility of the business was my primary concern. I wanted to be able to choose my own hours so I could take work when it came without any complications. But the other reason I chose this particular model was the ability to use technology to 'leverage' my time and income.
Once I had a website and content up and running, it kept going and I was able to make sales and deliver products without being physically present. This is the 'magic' of an online business. The automation involved with an online business means that you can do the work once and let that work keep running in the background. You can make sales and deliver products over and over through the same piece of content or advert, which can run an virtual autopilot 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year.
Each piece of content you create can send people to a landing page and sell a product. By creating many pieces of content and sharing them online you can build multiple sources of income which can all run continually, working as your own 'automated sales team'.
3 - Ability To Scale
Along with this amazing automation is the ability to scale your business. Because there is no human intervention in the 'sales loop', multiple sales can happen instantaneously through the same platforms. Your content and advertising can be grown over time and scaled instantly (in the case of paid advertising). As your content gets more shares and more people flow through your website and content, your sales grow as a result. If you use paid advertising you can also scale a profitable campaign up easily by increasing your daily budget.
The automation of an online business makes it very easy to scale. In the case of a physical business this often means more staff, sales tools, larger office space and a whole lot more expense and hassle. With an online business everything is already in place. You simply need to send more customers through the automated sales systems with content and/or paid advertising methods.
4 - Low Startup Costs
When I started an online business I did it from my own pocket. I didn't need a massive loan and I worked at a level which suited my budget. An internet business is very cost effective and you can start from scratch from pretty much any budget. If you have more to invest you can grow it faster with paid advertising. But, if you are on a budget like I was when I got started, you can get started easily and cheaply.
With a regular 'bricks and mortar' business there are many overheads to consider. Your costs include a business premises, staff, hardware and stock. Then there's advertising and delivery costs. With an online business you just need a laptop and an internet connection - two things many people already have. Your main cost is getting the right education and learning the best strategy to build on.
5 - Simplicity
Technology has made it much easier than was previously possible to set up your own website and learn how to use simple online platforms to connect people to products and services. Advertising and content creation is now available for anyone to use. Websites can be set up with a few clicks and anyone with an email can learn to use the tools and strategies of online marketers.
Whereas previously website building was the domain of the tech savvy programmer, now anyone can use simple user friendly platforms and programs. An online business sounds like something for a technical person, but anyone can now learn the skills needed to build their own online business.
6 - Control
An internet business gives you control over your life. Of course it takes time to build up to a stage where it can replace your current income. But the flexibility of an internet business means you can work it around your existing employment until you can make this happen.
Once your income is beyond that of your employment, you are in a very good position to take charge of your life. You don't have to do the daily commute, or put up with an uncomfortable working situation. If you don't like your job you can quit. Don't like your boss? Fire him/her!
One of the very best things about an internet based business is the control it gives you over your life. You can also build your work around your lifestyle, rather than the other way round. Most people are forced to put work first in everything they do. Family time, holidays and hobbies all tend to depend and evolve around work. An internet business allows you to prioritize the things in your life which mean the most. It can put you back in the driving seat of your life, both in terms of what you earn and how you spend your time.
7 - Work From Anywhere
Not only does an internet business offer great flexibility in terms of working hours but it also offers you the choice to work from anywhere globally. This appeals to many people who would otherwise be more trapped by conventional work in a localized workplace.
For me, it was the flexibility of being able to choose my own hours and not have a boss. But for many the ability to travel anywhere globally is the most important factor to owning their own online business.
Take your laptop anywhere with an internet connection and work while abroad and travelling.
8 - Learn Life Skills
The skills I have learned from building my own internet business also make me much more employable. I also worked for an internet based company with the skills I learned from my laptop while sitting at home!
Being able to reach people globally and target specific types of people is a great skill and very desirable in business too. I was also able to use the knowledge I learned online to build one of my other physical businesses much more quickly by using both my website building skills and paid advertising.
The internet is a fantastic opportunity for anyone to be able to improve themselves, learn new skills and build another source of income. Skills learned are yours for life, whether or not you continue down the path of building an online business.
9 - Independence
We might believe ourselves to be independent but many of us are very dependent on our work for income. As such, our employers tell us how much we can earn, how much holiday we can take and what we will be doing while at work. Financial independence is the ultimate freedom.
When we are financially independent we can take a holiday whenever we please and work in our own time and on our own agenda. An online business gives you the automation and independence to live life on your terms, without the agenda of an employer running your life.
10 - Sovereignty
Being an owner gives you sovereignty. The ability to call the shots in your business is what many entrepreneurs aspire to. As a business owner your actions determine whether you make a success of your business or not.
Having a successful online business gives you the kind of freedom which most people will never see in their lifetime. The ability to create your own life on your terms is the reward of having worked hard on your business and on yourself.
Not having a boss, choosing your own working hours and choosing who you spend time with are all luxuries which are earned from working hard on your own business.
